| Kinglake Ranges Festival 2011 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
We are excited about the Kinglake Ranges Festival to be held in April or May of 2011, and want to make this one the best ever. Initially, born out of the Kinglake Bushfires of January 2006, the Festival has provided a united project in which the whole Kinglake Ranges Community is able to participate, inclusive of the entire area from Strathewan to Toolangi, Kinglake, Pheasant Creek and Flowerdale. After the 2009 fires, the desire for a united project is even greater. Therefore, we invite you or representatives of your organisation to participate in the planning by coming along to the first meeting in preparation for the 2011 festival. Everyone’s ideas and suggestions are valued. The meeting will be held at the Kinglake Ranges Neighbourhood House on Tuesday June 15 at 6.30pm. We currently have some funding and are hoping to increase the amount of funds for the event. Our aim is to ensure the event is diverse, inclusive and loads of fun for the whole community as well as encouraging visitors to the area. It is anticipated the event will provide a wide array of festivities encompassing rides and amusements, market stalls, art and craft displays, great local food, plus a fabulous line-up of musical talent including local bands and musicians.
